Control Systems Engineer for Drive-by-Wire Systems (m/f/d)

We are looking for…

In addition to your studies in a scientific or technical field, do you have in-depth experience in the development of control systems – ideally in the automotive, industrial, or mechanical engineering sector?
Do you have a deep understanding of dynamic systems, control strategies, and their simulation and implementation – especially in combination with hydraulic systems or heavy machinery?
Are you confident working with embedded systems and real-time environments, and do you have experience in model-based development with MATLAB/Simulink?
Are you familiar with the challenges of modeling and optimizing control algorithms and do you have a keen sense of system behavior? Are you familiar with terms such as drive-by-wire and standards such as ISO 26262, as well as the requirements for safety and functional reliability in safety-critical applications? Are bus systems such as CAN and Ethernet, as well as tools such as Vector, dSpace, or comparable development and test environments, standard for you? Have you already supervised tests on test benches or directly on vehicles or machines, validated control strategies, and put your systems through their paces?
Do you work independently, are you a team player, do you communicate clearly, and do you bring new ideas to the project—with curiosity, innovative spirit, and the courage to change things? Then we should talk!

Your tasks

  • Development and optimization of highly dynamic control systems, e.g., for BLDC/PMSM motors for safety-critical drive-by-wire applications.
  • Modeling, simulation, and implementation of robust, precise control algorithms with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Analysis, testing, and validation of control strategies—from modeling and HIL environments to in-vehicle testing.
  • Collaboration with embedded developers and safety engineers in an ASIL-compliant development environment.
  • You will create technical documentation and reports on development processes and customer projects.
